A harvested cork tree absorbs 5x the amount of CO2 than one that isn't cultivated. To make these mats, not a single tree needs to fall. The bark is stripped by hand every nine years and then slowly begins to regenerate. Cork trees also support some of the world's most biodiverse forests! To honor this, Ananday plants 10 trees for every mat sold, and offsets over 100% of their carbon footprint.
